Adesina parleys Baales, CDC and CDAs on the modalities for collecting Radio and Television  Licence in homes.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu LG Hon.Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina is intensifying consultations on the right methods  to collect to ease the collection of the RTV.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria empowers the Local Governments to collect RTV. This huge revenue to the Councils  have been untapped because of the robust allocation  from Oil in the past. Today,  the oil revenue is dwindling, which calls for proactive actions, if the residents will continue to enjoy dividends of democracy, the government must go after the untapped resources." This is a  participatory government, we are in government because you voted  for us, any action we take must have your imput and blessings. We therefore called on the Baales, the CDC and the CDAs to go back to the people and carry out intensive dialogue and consultations with the residents on the need to pay RTV.

The meeting resolved that the CDAs should collaborate with the Baales in the discharge of this responsibilities within the communities. "the Baales own their communities ,  hence the CDA leadership should  notify them before embarking on the collection on behalf of the Council".

This administration is really friendly with the people by dialog to receive a token of #500  per household which is what we propose for now, each community will have the right to seek a project they wish sited within their domain.

The parley also suggested that a sticker and receipt be issued to the residents that paid.
