AN ADDRESS DELIVERED ON THE FLAG OFF CEREMONY ON THE OCCASION OF CONSTRUCTION OF 2 SIDE DRAINAGE/ SURFACING OF ROAD AT SABO GATE BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT HON. WASIU AYODEJI ADESINA TODAY, WEDNESDAY 20TH OF OCTOBER, 2021 AT THE SABO MARKET. ————————————————————----

Programme starts 12:57pm through Islamic prayer by The Chief Imam Alhaja Matti followed by the Nigeria National Anthem; Protocols thereafter follows through individual recognitions.

I felt honored to be in your midst today and happy to meet you all again. I give God the glory for preserving our lives.

 -

 You may want to ask, why are we here today ? Our presence here today is to lay down yet another historic project which will be of benefit to everyone and the good people of Ikorodu at large.

 -

 The administration has been embarking on various project that will benefit the general public and determined, to fulfill promise promises made as a continuation of my last tenure agenda. 

 -

 I am using this opportunity to appreciate our Excellency, The Governor Of Lagos State Government , Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for His support on development here in Ikorodu and Lagos state at large. Many of our completed projects are evident in the community around IKORODU Local Government area among these are construction / rehabilitation of road, clearing of drainages, health care provisions, Covid-19 which have stopped many ongoing works from being completed, but today we thank God for His mercies that we are very much relieved from it and we can move ahead by paying attention to our pending works.

 -

 More so, despite the fact that we had huge financial limitations due to the pandemic scourge, this administration was still able to deliver some, if not; all of the request submitted.

 - 

The project being flag-off in Sabo market today, is just the new beginning of provision outlined for the market to ensure rapid development in area of infrastructure, sanitation and good health.

 - 

This construction of drainages will create good channel for free flow of floods, prevent blockages and serve as means of clean environment especially during the raining season.

 - 

I will also like to add that some projects that we embarked upon recently are as follows:👇🏻 

 1. Illuminating of Itun-nla street and Sabo cemetery with 85 watts energy bulbs. 

 2. Reconstruction of Itunmaja Big culvert.

 3. Reconstruction of Obun-oke culvert.

4. Complete renovation of Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat in order to provide a more conducive environment for staff. 

5. Surfacing Of Anibaba junction / Solaris street with interlocking stones. 

6. Palliative measures on Isikalu street.

7. Palliative measures on Etunrenren street. 8. Grading of Agbele Road (ward f).

9. Grading of Borokini Dada Street (Ward A) 10. Provision of public toilets to the pupils of Salvation Army primary school.

 - 

Hence, such provision would be extended to communities, schools and market in Ikorodu central for convenience purposes.

 -

At this junction, I advise us all to be security conscious of our environment appreciate and preserve what we have as our pride.

 -

Likewise I implore all CDA / CDC, Party members and stakeholders to join effort to move this administration to the greater height that will surely benefit everybody for a long time for public purpose.

I am happy for the co-existence here in Sabo market, despite our different cultures and tribes.

Let us make our environment clean at all times to prevent airborne and other transmitted diseases.

 Let us endeavor to pay our levies without being enforced, in other to create room for more infrastructural facilities for our usage.
