​Security Meeting With The Stakeholders, And The Ikorodu Local Government

Today, Wednesday, The 15th Of June, 2022:

The Ikorodu Local Government, Security, and Stakeholders Meeting were held in the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat Hall. 

-

The dignitaries in attendance are as follows:- “The Executive Chairman Of The Ikorodu Local Government an His Vice, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina and, Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji Oba; The Legislative Leader Of The Ikorodu Local Government Legislative Chamber, Hon. Adebowale Ajayi; The Council Chairman, Mr. Martins; The Council Tressurer; Baale Of Ojogbe, Chief Olukayode Olomo; The CDA Chairmen Across Ikorodu Local Government area; The Allahu Security Agency; The Lagos State Neighborhood Watch (korodu Branch); The NDLEA Security Force; The Nigeria Police Force; The Nigeria  Civil Defense Security; The APC Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun; The Former Ikorodu Local Government Executive Chairman, Alhaji Janaid Owokodu; The APC Lagos East Senatorial Woman Leader, Mrs. Wonuola Oshinowo; The Ikorodu Divisional APC Woman Leader, Alhaja Rasheedah Bello; The Secretary To The Local Government, Alhaji Adesina Lateef Affini; The Ogunleye Wadesh Babes Patron, Alhaji Folorunsho (APC Leader); The Iya Oloja General Ikorodu Division, Alhaja Taofikat Abiodun Allinson, and so on”.

The program was focused on the security issues affecting the Ikorodu division at large, and the solution to them.

The Executive Chairman, after His public Address Delivery; He said, I want to thank everyone for contributing to the discussion, The special thanks go to the Police DPOs, The political leaders, and as well as everybody that is present here. There are ways to commit the security to tackle these security issues, but I want to thank everybody because what is happening in our society is visible. The churches and Mosques have been differently attacked, and at this junction, we can know more fold our arms to see the demeaning of our people, we have to raise that path by beginning to reduce the attacks through our supports as citizens with the police.

The Local Government has raises fifty (50) local vigilantes for the Local Government, Of which twenty (20) among the fifty (50) will join the Local task force, and the thirty (30) remaining will serve within the community, which will work in line with the Nigeria Police Force.

The screening of the fifty (50) hefty men as the Local Government Vigilante for Ikorodu Local Government will be done in the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat Hall, and they will be committed. The Kabiyesi will send their representatives from the palace, the CDAs, and other political leaders too will be in the screening process, and once they are free from the screening, that will be our local vigilante for the local government, while the local government is ready to equip them also, in other to reduce the rate of crimes in our society.

I want to beg your pardon to say that from the 1st Of June, 2022; the OKADA riders will know more carrying two passengers on a bike, it has to be one on a bike in Ikorodu. The Police and other security agencies will assist us to ensure that. Henceforth, 

from the aforementioned date (1-7-2022), Any bike carrying two passengers on a bike, stands to be arrested. Says, The Ikorodu Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina.

The BAALE Of Ojogbe, Chief Olukayode Olomo, laid more emphasis on-time schedule of the local government programs. He said, anytime you call to invite us to programs, let’s keep to the appropriate time fixed. When you say 11 o’clock, let it be 11 o’clock. Iranse Kan, ogbodo di Iranse ikeji lowo. He says.

And two, he said, I don’t know if to rejoice, or to mourn... rejoice in the sense that, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TInubu just recently won the APC Presidential primary election, and mourn in the sense that, in regards to what recent killing in owo; The Bible says, rejoice when due rejoicing, and mourn when necessarily needs’ to mourn, but I know when “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TInubu becomes the President Of this Nation today, we will have the Nigeria flag flipping like never before.

He further said, those who have perpetrated the people in owo have people behind them, and they will need feedback with videos, and they wouldn’t want to attack anyone going on the road, but to focus on the multimedia places, that is why I’m advising the chairman to make sure that the security at the local government main gate entrance is being changed. The entrance gate is too porous. If the police are not good, please try the criminals. Says, Chief Olukayode Olomo.

And as for the NDLEA man who just spoke not quite long; if we want to tackle the issues of insecurity, we will have go after the drug abuse people.

I want to ask you the NDLEA man, if you’ve been to Ojuna, Oju Irowo, and Itunmeko to witness what is going on there? Awon ibiti gbogbo kiniyiwa niyen. Says, Chief Olukayode  Olomo.

All issues profound a solution through 

proffering solutions within ourselves. We should be very vigilant against the criminals within our environment, ensuring peace within ourselves, and seeing ourselves as oneness will not allowing criminal practices in our environment. Says, SP Adekunle Omishakin.

I will like to specifically talk about the immigrants, it is not all the immigrants that we see in Nigeria are all Hausas, most of them are non-Nigeria. I will urge everyone to be careful and watch everything they do carefully. Says, An Immigration officer.

Abandoned houses in IKORODU also contributed to the issues affecting us in Ikorodu Division, these are the hidden places for the gender homeless criminals. If the baales, Chiefs, The High Chiefs including all The Obas across Ikorodu Division can get that done, it will help kick against the criminal activity. Says, Mr. Musa Akanji Shakiru, The CDHR Coordinator Ikorodu unit.

What is legally right, maybe totally wrong. If we fail to follow the rule of law in our country, there is no way we can get it right. This is the brand of IKORODU, please, let’s us all be security conscious. Says, the Igbogbo Barracks DPO,  AR BALOGUN.

Mr. Chairman Sir, here is the question I will want you to ask the Ikorodu stakeholders, and need the people of Ikorodu to answer, and sign the agreement, “If anyone is found perpetrated  and arrested, will they not call you for rescue on this security resolution issues in Ikorodu division, Sir?
