BUILDER DEOLA BANJO HOSTS A "COME LET'S REASON TOGETHER" SYMPOSIUM WITH THE GOOD PEOPLE OF IKORODU NORTH, AND GIVES CASH GIFTS TO RESIDENTS WHO LOST PROPERTIES TO FLOOD.

As part of programs to commemorate the one year in office as Executive Chairman, Builder Deola Banjo yesterday invited residents of the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu North who lost properties to the last heavy rainfall and caused one to lose his life to a "Come, let's reason together Symposium" which held at the 500 seater hall of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH).

The Symposium with the theme- Biennaial environmental discourse on perennial flooding of first gate/Odogunyan and its environs: Government Intervention & recipe for everlasting succor was put together in partnership with the Lagos State University of Science and Technology.

The symposium had in attendance major stakeholders in the LCDA such as Otunba Sunkanmi Tijani Ikorodu Division APC Chairman, Hon. Adeola Jokomba former Chairman Ikorodu North, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North, Honourable Ameen Apanishile, The Council Manager, Mr. Babington, Mrs. Toyin Salau, Alh. Fayas, Alh. Odidi, Hon. Niyi Odugbesi SLG, members of the Executives, the Legislative Arm, friends, and family members of those that lost properties to the flooding.

Builder Deola Banjo after his Keynote address projected a documentary of the flooding and its attendant effects to refresh the minds of the audience and to set the tone for the discussion of the day after which senior lecturers from LASUSTECH took turns to deliver papers on the causes and possible solutions to the menace of flooding in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu North.

The event reached its peak when the Chairman magnanimously donated cash gifts to affected members of the community to cushion the effect of the pain and to show solidarity with them for their loss.

Beneficiaries of the kind gesture thanked the Chairman immensely for deeming it fit to identify with them after the incident.
