HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Shotonwa Animashaun, Families, Indigenous Youth, and Others Commenced The Celebration Of Ipakodo Day, 2022

On Monday, October 3rd, 2022; HRM Oba (Engr) Bashiru Shotonwa Animashaun, The Sekunmade Of Ipakodo, and families, including Hon. Prince Waheed Oladimeji Animashaun; the traditional rulers, High Chiefs; Baales; Olisa Ajuwajoye Of ipakodo, Oloye Oludayo Shotonwa; Odofin Of Ipakodo, Chief Abdul Lateef Animashaun; Chief Oye Sholebo and Chief Mrs. Sekinat Dosunmu Sholebo, The Apesin Of Ipakodo; Olombas; Babaalawos; Awopas; Onigunukos; Oluweris; Osugbos; Liwe Ebute-Iga & Ipakodo; Dr. Abiodun Abatan, Senior lecturer in Lagos State University and the Youths established the first Ipakodo day celebration in the Oba Sekunmade Of Ipakodo’s palace.


Opening prayer was given by Apena Of Ipakodo, thereafter, the Chairman Ipakodo Development Association (IDA), Prince Aremuade Olasunkanmi Animashaun gave his welcome address through appreciation and value for the commencement of the Ipakodo day celebration, 2022. He said the plan has been on since the HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Aremu Shotonwa attained his forefather’s throne and appreciate the King for giving His support and making the first Ipakodo day celebration come to stay. He therefore also appreciates the active youths, Baales, Olombas, and others' involvement in the activities. 


In an interview with The Chairman, Ipakodo Development Association (IDA), Prince Aremuade Olasunkanmi Shotonwa; he said, The Committee that he is spearheading, IDA is not by his power, neither by his capability, but by God’s merciful grace. As you can see, there is fair weather today despite the celebration just in the beginning. By tomorrow Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 there will be free health care service in the Oba Sekunmade Of Ipakodo’s palace by 9 O’clock, the 5th day will engage the Market women and the artisans to rejoice with the Kabiyesi; the 6th day, Friday, is the youth day, while the 7th day, Saturday will be the grand finale at the ferry terminal and then, is going to be glorious, and God bless us all. The HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Shotonwa Animashaun, Sekunmade Of Ipakodo also welcomes all the dignitaries present in the first Ipakodo Day Celebration, 2022; starting from the head of Baales; Honorary Chief Oye Sholebo & His Olori, Chief Mrs. Sekinat Dosunmu Sholebo; Otunba Tobalashe Of Ipakodo, Chief Rasaq Animashaun; IYA Osun; Iya OSHA; Prince Tajudeen Shotonwa Animashaun and so on.


The Kabiyesi joyfully expressed his intention; he said, I am so happy that the Ipakodo Day celebration has effectively gotten started and so the subsequent Ipakodo day celebration will be more glorious. We have just started ours now in Ipakodo, we shouldn’t expect it perfect as the IkoroduOga celebration and Igbogbo Day, but this time next year 2023, there will be multiple plans than this year, 2022.
