A Courtesy visit to the office of the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission Hon. Oluwatoyin Gafar Bolowotan on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 prompted a candid interaction about good governance in Lagos state for the people of the state and government impaction in sport to encourage the youth to participate in governance.
His Excellency Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu a man of Honour, a man of higher integrity, calm, focused, determined, and a goal-getter has promised to do more on various infrastructural development across the state.
Generally speaking, The State is blessed to have Mr. Governor, because if you look around at education, transportation, sport, health, and so on... just to mention a few, you can see the tremendous progress in what the governor and the government have done between 2019 up till date, and I am proud to be part of his administration. If you look at sports which happens to be my primary domain, Mr. Governor has done well, we are renovating teslim Balogun stadium, which is ongoing, Agege stadium, Mobolaji Johnson arena formally Onika stadium is almost at ninety-five percent conclusion, and we have eight new stadia that we will soon commence around Lagos.
What the government and the governor have done is promote the continuity of the ''All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, and our Nation. By this, we encourage the masses to participate in the coming general election to re-elect all APC candidates' continuity in governance. However, we do not have an alternative, I can say it categorically; we don't have any reason to do otherwise in Lagos, so the Party has done equally well, we just want to continue encouraging our people to keep participating in governance to see that there is no better alternative than APC to continue with the good work as a Party. We will continue to do the best for our people because we need to change lives, we need to make life better for them so that we can also have rest of mind, that is our focus. We are not going to rest until our good becomes better and our better becomes best.
Our representation is about the people, our focus it's all about youth development and continually engaging them. Youth should have no other choice than to participate more by going out and picking their PVCs because that is the only way their voice can be heard.
The number of PVC collections is now improving in Lagos State. As of January 16th, 2023, Ikorodu has increased in PVC collections from ''five hundred and fifty-five (555)'' to ''Three thousand, nine hundred and ninety-four (3994), and it is increasing on daily basis, He said.
