2023: NYCN Lagos Chapter Chairman Expressed Economy Issues For Peaceful Coexistence.

The National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter under the administration of NYCN Lagos State Chairman, Comrade Lekan Biliamin held a ''Lagos State Youth House Press Conference'' today, Monday, February 13th, 2023 at Ikeja Youth Centre on Cash Swap Policy, Peaceful Lagos before and after 2023 elections and Fuel Scarcity.

In an interview with him, He said, The situation of the country is the reason why we are here, and as young people, whatever happens in our country is a concern to us.

The press conference today is actually to address the crucial issues that are facing the masses.

The Youth council take positions on the most important issues, and one of the position is on the issues of cashout swap by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which is bringing lots of hardship to Nigerians and young people at the level of the Youth council. We don't find it funny at all, that is why we are here to make our voices be heard and to speak on behalf of over ten million Youths in Lagos State.

Also on the issues of fuel scarcity, we've called on the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Ltd and every other stakeholder that is responsible for fuel fairness in our dear country, to wake up to their responsibilities.

We don't want a situation whereby young people will be pushed to the wall, dialogue is one of the best tools to use to address a situation like this; We don't want the repeat of the end of ''Special Antirubbery Squared (SAS)'' in Lagos State, we want peaceful coexistence, we don't want the youths to carry placards on the street protesting against the same policies that are bringing much hard time to us as Nigerians.

Also, we don't want violence before, during, and after the 2023 elections. We know how sensitive the Lagos State economy is, Lagos State is the fifth economy in entire west Africa. We know that whatever happens in Lagos State goes a long way to harm the whole country and by extension, west Africa. So, we are calling for a peaceful election, we don't want something that will bring curiosity into our dear State, young people are the people that are used to perpetrate evil, and we don't want such in our state.

We want the young people to trip out in mass on the day of the election, February 25th, 2023 which is for Presidential, Senatorial, and the Federal House of Representatives; and then March should be for Governorship and the House of Assembly.

We want the Youths to come out en mass to demonstrate their franchise this time around, and why we are voting let's do it peacefully, let's coordinate ourselves, and let's be a good ambassador of our dear state; We know Lagos State is the center of excellence and young people in Lagos State are excellence driving, these are our positions said, NYCN Lagos State Chairman.

Governance is about the people, for the people, and by the people. Governance exists because the citizens are in existence, which means whatever policies any serious government is coming up with must be people-oriented, such policies must address the cogent needs of the people. When we have policies that do not involve the citizens, such policies are as good as a failure. So, the government should listen to the worries of the people, the government should look inward and see how they can ease the tension in the country because failure to do that might lead the country to anarchy, and when anarchy exists in a country the government will no longer be in existence, so if you don't want such for yourselves you'll have to address the needs of the people. The best way the government can find its way out of this is dialog, we need to start engaging our leaders in a reimbursement discussion. If anything happens to Nigeria today, most so-called leaders have visas from other countries; you and I may suffer for it, so if we find ourselves in such a situation, why can't we embrace dialog? Comrd. Lekan Biliamin said.
