Senator Abiru: Happy 85th Birthday To An Outstanding Leader, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun

On behalf of my family and the good people of the Lagos East Senatorial District, I heartily congratulate my esteemed leader, a distinguished elder-statesman and member of the prestigious Governance Advisory Council(GAC), Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun on your 85th birthday.

Sir, you have left an indelible footprint on the sands of time as a successful professional, politician , religious and community leader of repute.  As an accomplished chartered banker and a lawyer, you bequeathed  enviable legacies at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, where you had a meritorious career and  retired as a deputy director.

In politics and public administration, you demonstrated unusual capacity and competence to the admiration of many Lagosians. In the glorious days of Late Alhaji Lateef Jakande administration between 1979 and 1983, you played a pivotal role as the Secretary to the State Government in envisioning and driving the masterplan for Lagos development in the areas of education, health, public transportation and infrastructure.

Sir, we are proud to have you as our esteemed leader, not only in Ikorodu division and Lagos East Senatorial District, but Lagos State at large. We appreciate the quality leadership and unwavering support  you have been providing to our great party, the All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos East Senatorial District.

On this milestone, I join your family, friends, members of the church, party members and numerous well-wishers in wishing you a happy 85th birthday. I pray that the good Lord grants you sound health as you continue to serve the Church of Jesus Christ and the people. Ameen.

Congratulations sir!
