His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, HRM, the Adegorunshen V, and Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom celebrates His 70th birthday in appreciation to Almighty God yesterday, Monday, February 5th, 2024 at the Ayangbure Palace with a series of dignitaries there present.

During Oba Ranodu of Imota’s speech, His Royal Majesty, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, said, that someone who will become a King or Chief in life will ultimately come from Agogo-Ide which must have been anointed by God and known by the ancestors. He added that the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom is the paramount King whom all Obas in the Ikorodu Division have come to rejoice with. He thereby prayed for the longest-reigning of “His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, “You have just started enjoyment, he said in excitement. 


Lagos State Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Akinmade Ayinde stated in his speech said, he was part of the cue planner for Oba Shotobi’s birthday, and that is the more reason why he is subject to be present here today in honour of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom with his humble friend, Managing Director of IBILE holding, Mr Tobi Lawal. He stated that this year's birthday celebration would be half of the years Kabiyesi had spent in life, meaning by God's grace, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi will celebrate 80-90-100, and above years in life, he prayed.


The Lagos East Senatorial District Legislator, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru in his speech says Kabiyesi has always been a supporting hand to him. He thereby congratulated the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom and also thanked Him for His often support. 


Says, as a father, Kabiyesi has always been in an advisory role to him personally. “Your counsel has always been a beneficiary to me and His reins have also brought good tidings to Ikorodu land” Because it's under your reins, Ikorodu has been elevated to the most populous city in Nigeria, those are part of the good things that have happened in your time. 


Senator added, following the tone of the Chief of Staff of Lagos State regarding his aforesaid wishes; “You have just spent half of your lifetime”, as we have gathered here today, we will also be gathered to celebrate your 80th, 90th, 100, and above, in appreciation, he said.


Ikorodu Federal House of Representative, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, MHR in absentia, referees a little boy saxophonist for entertainment on His Royal Majesty’s Birthday. 


“I love him so much; He is a very very caring person”, Her Royal Majesty, Olori Abosede Shotobi said in historical love about how  “Egbon became Baba-Dayo”. Kabiyesi O!

His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, The Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Obas in his speech, appreciated His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for being the first person to wish Him Happy Birthday this morning, and while the celebration is ongoing, His Excellency Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu also called to congratulate Him, and also send Lagos State Representatives for His Birthday celebration. 


Says, He was so surprised to see all the Royal dignitaries here present, His WABCO colleagues; “Seeing my very good friend, Ojora Apasa, was a surprise one”, and the people who has come to celebrate my birthday, this is so amazing and unknown to Me.


Kabiyesi thereby thanks all the people who have planned this befitting, Marvelous, and remarkable 70th Birthday for Him. “I appreciate you all, and I will not take this for granted”, Kabiyesi said in appreciation to God Almighty, and the Royal dignitaries there present. Thank you very much, He said.


Princes and Princesses from both Rademo and Lasunwon ruling houses, under the coordination of Prince Adeyemi Olufemi Odofins thereby presented gifts to His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi and also branded Premero Transport Buses to create more awareness for Odun-Osu, which will commence on February 20th, 2024.
