​Road Development: Two Major Link Roads In A Day — Hon. Jimi Benson Flag-Off

The Ikorodu Federal House of Representative, Hon. “Prince” Babajimi Adegoke Benson, MHR has flagged off Offin-Oreta road at open space before the DPL filling station under Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Erikorodo, Laketu (lucky fibre axis) under Ikorodu-North LCDA, Ikorodu, Lagos-State, Nigeria yesterday, Monday, March 4th, 2024 for the development of Ikorodu division at large. 

This attracted political dignitaries, the King, and the Chiefs of Adeboruwa Kingdom to be there present to witness the pronouncement of the flag off of the roads by Hon. Jimi Benson. 

Among the dignitaries there present are:- the Governor Advisory Committee (GAC) Member, former Lagos State Deputy Governor, and All Progressives Congress (APC) Ikorodu division Superior Party Chieftain, Sir Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, FCA, KJW; GAC Member and APC Party Chieftain, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Ruben Bashorun; His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali Orimadegun (Lawyer) and Chiefs; formal Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya; Ikorodu division APC Apex Secretary, Alhaji Badru Enifeni; former Lagos State Commissioner for Urban and Rural Development, Hon. Lanre Balogun; APC Party Chairman of Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA, Mr Taiwo Orenuga;  The Ex-Official and First Vice Chairman of Igbogbo-Bayeku Community Development Association (CDA) and Community Development Council (CDC),  Otunba Hamed Odebiyi and others; Ikorodu Constituency ll Legislator, member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. The Offin-Oreta major road flag-off will link to the Offin ferry terminal which was opened a few weeks ago by His Excellency Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola SanwoOlu, link to Ajah, Banana Island, Badore and more. 

Rep. Jimi Benson thereby thanks the good people of Offin-Oreta road, Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA and Erikorodo, Laketu (lucky fibre axis) under Ikorodu-North LCDA, Ikorodu, Lagos State for their great support in the by-election of 2023 and also extends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appreciation greetings to them. 

Says, “Your votes have brought this road development to your domain for people to enjoy the dividend of democracy”. He therefore appreciates and promises more road development is gradually coming.

On behalf of the good people of the Ikorodu division, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA, Buldr. Sesan Daini joyfully appreciates Rep. Benson for adding value to the team agenda of His Excellency Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and for the laudable road developmental project facilitated to his jurisdiction.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Kasali Orimadegun of the Adeboruwa Kingdom and the Ikorodu division APC political leaders, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, GAC member; Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Reben Bashorun, GAC member and others have expressed their gratitude to Rep. Jimi Benson for being an active Federal Representative. 

GAC member, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Reben Bashorun also told the community stakeholders and the people of Ikorodu that if they don't have a good road there will be no means of sourcing for their living. He thereby urges all people of the Offin-Oreta axis to be in support of the contractor, Engr. for the road project to be actualized. 

Speaking about Reri-Meta, Asiwaju Bashorun enlightened the audience and the community by saying that Reri-Meta is the oceanic ancestors of Offin, Oreta, and Bayeku.

former Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya also in his public address urges the political aspirants and the political officeholders, that when they have an opportunity to be elected as executive officeholders, they shouldn't boost their egos and be greedy, because the position is for public services. Ask yourself what you want to be remembered for when you finally leave the position. 

Saying, that what MHR Rep. Jimi Benson is doing is the mantra of his political group which is the iCare Foundation, and this has shown truly that he really cares, that he loves his constituency, and working for his constituency. He understands the pressing needs of his constituency, said; Chief Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya.

Ikorodu Constituency Il legislator, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly in his speech emphasised the activism of 2023 by-election political campaigns in the Offin-Oreta axis regarding people’s demands of this road. “I so much appreciate my Boss, Rep. Jimi Benson for this loadable road project happening during his regime in office”, he said. 

On behalf of the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Babajide Olusola SanwoOlu duly represented by Lagos State Special Adviser on Urban-Rural Development, Dr “Prince” Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje extends his appreciation to Rep. Jimi Benson for his effective progressives developmental impact in Ikorodu division from one street to another, he said.

A Group of Private Secondary School students also in their capacity appreciate Hon. Jimi Benson for his systematic ways of delivering his constituency. Wishing to emulate Jimi Benson’s attributes of leadership and representation. 

 

The Offin-Oreta road has been said to be accomplished before the end of the year 2024 by the contractor, give and take; Engr. Jimoh Rauf Gbadamosi envisaged and appealed to His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali Orimadegun to help communicate with the youths on what to do in achieving the goal.

Says, “I know what Hon. Jimi Benson went through before actualizing this project”, it is not easy; without God and the youth, it is not possible. He thereby requests the youth's support in achieving the Offin-Oreta road.

In conclusion, Rep. Benson appreciates the people of Erikorodo, Laketu (Luckyfibre) for their support and finds him worthy to be voted for at first, second, and third times as their Ikorodu Federal House of Representatives and implores them to stay patient that further Ramadan palliative are coming. 

Assures the Erikorodo road flag-off will be completed, give and take; at the end of the year 2024.
