Latest Consolidated Salary Increase For Some Categories Of Workers Not Same As New Minimum Wage


Before you start to mis-inform others, the latest 25% - 35% increase in salary of workers in the public service, research institutes, intelligence, military, police, para-military workers is NOT same as new minimum wage but just an increment for civil servants on the remaining six consolidated salary structures, namely;

• Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure,

• Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure  

• Consolidated Police Salary Structure,

• Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure,

• Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure, 

• Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure.”


Note that New minimum wage has not been announced yet, it will soon be declared to improved on this latest increment 


What this means is that 35% of the current minimum wage of N30,000 is N10,500. It means that workers on GL 01 now have N10,500 added to their present salary as from January 2024 or 35% of the present salary as at January 2024 and that means the least paid workers on Grade Level 01 would earn N40,500, until a New minimum wage is announced.
