Lagos Youth Week: NYCN Lagos organizes A-Day Youth Leadership Workshop.

The Nigerian Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos chapter under the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development ably facilitated and led by NYCN Lagos Youth Chairman, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olamilekan and Excos have successfully effected "A-Day Youth Leadership Workshop" with the presence of Ikorodu division local government Chairmen, and dignitaries at the 500 seater hall, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) main auditorium, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria today, Thursday, August 29th, 2024  to accelerate the application of social capital and technology for economic prosperity.

In an open remark public address by Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olamilekan, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos chapter, said; “As a youth leader, he can emphatically state that leadership is a delicate position that requires specific qualities to be an effective and impactful leader”. Urged the NYCN leaders to be proactive in every aspect of their coordination for peaceful coexistence.

Speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende urged the youth and tertiary students to take advantage of positive usage of social media platforms and digital technology to initiate B2B and B2C sales and marketing strategic services for potential income-generating activities, and also do away from taking hard drugs. “Drugs lead you to nowhere, say no to drugs”, he said.

This was said to empower the youth and students by giving them the evidence they need to make decisions about technology usage for sustainability and development growth.

On a stage interview with Hon. Temitope Adewale, Legislator & Chairman, of the House Committee on Transportation at Lagos State House of Assembly, said the youth should cultivate dignity in favour, connecting the dots marketing strategy. “Learn the role, focus on it and be productful in it”.

Builder Adeola Banjo, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, said during his goodwill motivational message to the youth and Students. "If you dream of it, you can achieve it".

Hon. Sulaimon Olanrewaju Kazeem (SOK), Ikorodu-west LCDA, said to the Youth and Students; “You might not have anyone to pursue your vision for you, but if you're pre-determine, you will get to accomplish your vision”.

“You don't need to know anybody before you can become somebody”, he said.

Hon. Motunrayo Alogba, Executive Chairperson of Ijede LCDA said to motivate the Youth and Students, “Believe in yourself, know where you are going, determination is the best”.

Hon. Builder Sesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-baiyeku LCDA goodwill message after protocol process observations, said to the Youth and Students, “We have our destiny in our hands, that is what the theme of today’s event is talking about” and urged them to cultivate the habit of being a very good product of who and where they represent”.

Hon. Builder Sesan Daini further appreciated the Lagos State Youth and people for the recent peaceful protest in Lagos to promote the state's socio-economic development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party leaders, and the Executive stakeholders across the State.

In an interview with Comr. Ogunsanmi Basit, Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ikorodu Local Government Chapter, said; He is honored to address the youth today under the theme "Click to Progress." This theme resonates deeply with our journey as youth leaders—we are all just one decision away from creating meaningful change.

Says, In Ikorodu, we have clicked to progress by organizing community cleanups, health outreaches, and campaigns against drug abuse. These actions are our way of ensuring that every click, every choice, drives our community forward.

Today’s workshop is our next click; a chance to learn, connect, and grow. Let’s seize this opportunity to push ourselves and our communities to the next level, he said.

On behalf of the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Hon. Commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende received an award, and a series of productive Youths and LASUS Tech student union representatives, including dignitaries, were also presented with awards.
