Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Mhr, Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State has supervised the two ongoing road construction at Agbede-Itaoluwo communities in Ikorodu-west LCDA and Abule-Eko, Ewu-owa road under Ijede LCDA yesterday, September 22nd, 2024 to enhance the economic infrastructural development of Ikorodu division at large for easy road networks.

These ongoing road developmental projects are facilitated by Hon. Jimi Benson after over 54 road facilitations through demands from the community stakeholders with the support of the local government executive chairpersons of both LCDAs.

The Agbede-Itaoluwo road measurement is 6.8 kilometres in eight communities under the Ikorodu-west LCDA, while the Abu-Eko, Ewu-owa road network construction size is 4.5 kilometres in Ijede LCDA.

Speaking, Reps. Benson clearly stated his presence at the ongoing road projects is to supervise the roads under construction and he was happy because he never believed by now that this road would have gone this far. After all, the constructor promised that roads would be ready by January 2025. "I didn’t believe but with what have seen today, just one month plus spent out of eight months duration planned for the road projects. "I am glad and believe that it will be ready by January".

Benson urged the people of Ijede and Ikorodu-west to thank Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Chairperson of Ijede lcda and Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), Chairman of Ikorodu-west lcda who has made a very big contribution to the success of these constructions and also promised to provide streetlights for the communities after the construction of the roads.

"I don’t like to share my next move, every community in Ikorodu is equal and all need development and I will make sure development gets to every nook and cranny of Ikorodu", he said.

"Many projects are ongoing i.e. building of a sports facility at Lasustech former Laspotech, building an ICT centre in Imota, completing the ICT centre in Ikorodu General Hospital, ICT centre at Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall as well etc".

In an interview with the Executive Chairperson of Ijede lcda, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba expressed that Abule-Eko and Ewu-owa road has made the community a dessert before now because the road is long overdue for repair.

Says, obviously, Ijede and Ikorodu-west LCDAs are not the only ones that will enjoy the road networks, but the people of the Ikorodu division at large. "The road is a blessing to the Ijede community and its environs", she said.

The road developments of both communities have now brought a rethink to the people of Ijede and Ikorodu-west to stay back on all their abandoned shops and houses, especially to those that want to sell off their lands. The project was promised to be completed by January 2025".

He thereby appreciated the CDA' and CDC's stakeholders, Chiefs, youths, the religious and political leaders for their effective support in ensuring the ongoing road constructions become completed.

In an interview with the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu-west lcda, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), expressed that he is very happy about the road construction, after its completion, it will help the citizens of Ikorodu-West and Ikorodu environs.

Babajinmi Benson who has made the road construction a success as he has said it will be ready by the next one or two months, promised Itowolo community as the next road agender.
