Happy 85th birthday to Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, a ruling Party Chieftain, Elder statesman, and former Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG).

Since he entered partisan politics in 1979, Asiwaju Bashorun has consistently upheld a prominent leadership role and has been a key voice within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party.

As a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), he has significantly contributed to the development and advancement of the ruling party and governance in Lagos State over the past thirty years. During his dedicated service as the Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG) and later as Commissioner for Education during the administration of Governor Lateef Jakande, Asiwaju Bashorun made a substantial impact on the state.

Furthermore, he has demonstrated his commitment to the development of his community in various capacities in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, and has positively influenced numerous Christian organizations as a religious leader.
