Rural Communities Light Up as Transformer Installation Brings Consistent Power Supply- Hon. (Dr.) Nurudeen Agbaje Facilitates.

Residents of rural communities in Ikorodu expressed relief as the Office of Rural Development within the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development facilitated the installation of two transformers to enhance electricity supply in Yologbo Estate and Alagbe Communities.
During the installation ceremony, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, articulated that these transformers would service over 400 households, aligning with the efforts of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to transform rural areas into semi-urban communities. This initiative is part of the broader vision to establish Lagos State as a 21st Century Economy.
Dr. Agbaje reaffirmed the State Government’s dedication to delivering the benefits of democracy to grassroots communities through the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda. He urged residents to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their protection from vandalism or destruction, emphasizing their role in fostering development within the communities.
Chief Samson Saliu Odubote Odujare, Baale of Igbe Land, expressed appreciation to the Governor for including the Igbe Community in the rural electrification initiative and assured that he would prioritize the security of the facility for the community’s benefit.
Similarly, Mr. Kolawole Wasiu, Chairman of Upright CDA, Agbede, Ikorodu North LCDA, conveyed gratitude for this endeavour, noting it was the first instance in over four months that the communities would receive consistent electricity supply. He assured that the residents would work collaboratively to protect the transformer and ensure its beneficial use for all members of the community.
