The KingsMen Elite Club of Ikorodu, under the leadership of President Seyi Ogunleye in collaboration with Vice-President Adewale Benson and Secretary Seun Ore-agba, has successfully conducted a complimentary medical outreach for the residents of Ikorodu Division on Thursday, October 10th, 2024. This event occurred at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat on T.O.S. Road in Lagos State, Nigeria.
The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance health and well-being within the community while simultaneously improving Ikorodu's attractiveness as a potential tourist destination.
Adhering to the guiding principle that “Health is Wealth,” the KingsMen Elite Club is devoted to serving the residents of Ikorodu. The event was graced by notable figures, including the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Honorable Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, members of the legislative arm, management and staff, as well as local traditional leaders, such as the Onimale Eleku of Ikorodu, High Chief Murisiku Olabanji Oreagba, and his entourage. Additionally, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Lagos State Governor on Social Development, Olamilekan Biliamin Oba, attended along with various community members.
The timing of this outreach notably coincided with World Mental Health Day, an internationally recognized observance that promotes mental well-being and community involvement. Entitled the “KingsMen Elites Club Medical Outreach,” the event provided a range of health services, including complimentary blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, free X-rays, tuberculosis screenings, and food and beverages for attendees.
This outreach represented a significant opportunity for community residents to access essential health services and support.
In an interview with Prince Tobiloba Benson, the media aide for the KingsMen Elite Club, it was revealed that this initiative was a collective effort funded entirely by club members. He stated, “We have not received support from any non-governmental organizations or government entities; however, we aspire to establish partnerships and secure sponsorship from various NGOs in the future.”
