Distribution of Educational Incentive Materials To Public Primary Schools In Ikorodu Division By The Association Of Ikorodu Descendants In Illinois, Chicago, USA.
The Association of Ikorodu Descendants in Illinois 60653, Chicago, USA (AKD USA), on Friday, December 16th, 2022 distributed One thousand bags, books, and writing educational incentive materials to the ''Public Primary School Pupils in Ikorodu Division'', held in the Local Government Education Secretariat, Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria to support the grassroots government toward public primary schools academia growth, capacity building of our new generation children, and to promote Ikorodu primary educational sector through giving back to the community, where they grew up from.
During the AKD USA Vice President, Mr. Shakiru Solebo's public address and interview, says ''AKD USA'' was founded twenty years (20yrs) ago by twenty-five (25) Ikorodu indigent in Illinois, Chicago; The former President, of AKD USA, Alhaji M. O. Aregbesola; Prince William Adebayo Ogunleye, member AKD USA; Mr. Abdul Fatai Mustapha, financial secretary physically represented on the mission to help Ikorodu community in respect to contributing their quota towards giving back to their community where the grew up from. The children nowadays need it, the government can not do it all. We expect the children to emulate what we are doing so that when they grow up, they will also give back what they can, to the generations behind them. Says the Vice President.
The Ikorodu Local Government Education Secretary, Mr. Amusa Afolabi, says he is very happy and truly appreciates the AKD USA's contribution in regards to giving back to their community. I want other indigents people in the diaspora to emulate them because most of the pupils are living a vulnerable life. He said many come to school without bags, shoes, and books. This will serve as a relief to them and their parents. Said he expected the children to perform very well, to whom much is given, much is expected; The children will feel they have overcome some of their academic issues by utilizing the educational incentive materials given to them judiciously in other not to over-labor their presents of buying bags, books, and writing materials again. In an interview with the Chairman of the Association of Headteachers in Ikorodu and the present head teacher of model primary school, Ikorodu; Mrs. Olugbemi Mojisola Idowu says it is an awesome idea and a welcome one. This will go a long way in helping the indigent children in Ikorodu, and not only the indigent children of Ikorodu. The pupils are cut across the country, from different States but reside to live in Ikorodu, and the AKD USA has extended its fellowship to all of them, so it is a good thing, and they expect more from others like them. This is like a lifelong print in their memories because when they grow up too they will remember that some people helped them during primary school leaving to make it in life, therefore, this is an encouragement for them to study more to do the same way the AKD USA organization has done.
