Lion Dr Anita Testifies To The Leadership Role Of Late PDG Yinka Bolarinwa.

The Lions International, District 404B, Nigeria had the 10th anniversary memorial service, for Lion PDG Yinka Bolarinwa (Face of The Future), launching of the commemorative pins, free eye screening and free eyeglasses for journalists on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at Lagos Airport Hotel, Oranmiyan Hall, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria to commemorate in remembrance of his great selfless services and contributions towards great achievements of the club.
A series of testimonies was pronounced by the Lions and invited dignitaries.
In an interview with Lion Chief Dr. Anita Nana Okuribido, the Charter President of Lagos Apex Lion Club and a past District Treasurer, she said PDG, Lion Yinka Bolarinwa was a goal-getter who was very impactful.
“I was privileged to have met him when we went for the International Convention at Busan, far away in South Korea, Where he convinced me to charter a Club.
"I thought it was an impossible task for me, but he simplified it and before I knew it”, all the charter members' names including mine as the charter president were registered at Oakbrook.
She said he made sure we were able to pay the charter fees as he simplified the process of registration, and today we have the Lagos Apex Lions Club which will be celebrating their 10th year anniversary in January, 2024.
PDG Bolarinwa he put us through the Lions processes, mentored us, and today Lagos Apex Lions Club happens to be one of the best clubs in District 404B2. Based on his impact, our Lagos Apex Club has positively affected the community of Wasimi, Maryland, she said.
She added that Lagos Apex Lions Club has been able to have our monthly activities based on the five pillars of service in the Lions Club. We have been able to go into the environmental services, which she is very passionate about, and have been able to carry out some activities, eg diabetic screening, feeding the hungry, eye screening, Child Cancer and being part of the “Reading Action Program for children ”.
She further testified, that “The memorial of PDG Yinka Bolarinwa (Face of The Future) had attracted five of her Lagos Apex Lions Club members; The moment they heard that PDG Bolarinwa was the one who established and chartered our club, they were emotionally moved to attend.
Lagos Apex will surely propose a special project in his memory. We shall establish an annual huge medical outreach in the Wasimi community in his memory because he was absolutely a selfless, kind and generous Lion”.
We were working with him to have our Lion's Headquarters erected at Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way before his sudden demise, she said.
“My message to the masses is to let us be very impactful, selfless, passionate, and always be precise in everything we do”, because, PDG Bolarinwa was always doing things with precision”, Lion Chief Dr. Anita Nana Okuribido, the Charter President of Lagos Apex Lions Club, reiterated.
