Aare Lastampa’s Vision for the Future: A New Era for the Oriwu Central Mosque

By Araba, Olawale Enifenilanfe:

Alhaji Isiaka Abayomi Olaribigbe (Soku), also known as Lastampa, has been formally appointed as the “Otun-Aare Adinni of Oriwu Central Mosque” following a turbaning ceremony conducted by Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi, the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque.

This event took place after the Jumma service on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Oriwu Central Mosque, located at No. 1, Shagamu Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Alhaji Isiaka Abayomi Olaribigbe (Soku) serves as a submissive servant to Allah and is an active Muslim brother in Islam.

He holds several prestigious positions, including Aare Adinni Nuurusalaam Islamic prayer Group UK and Ireland, Giwa Adinni of Itunshokun Mosque Ikorodu, Chairman of Ikorodu-Oga Association in the United Kingdom and Ireland, serves as a Board Member of the Ikorodu-Oga Heritage Development Association (IHDA), and now the New Otun-Aare Adinni of Oriwu Central mosque, Ikorodu.

The focus of the Jumma sermon was "Faith," emphasizing belief in the Almighty Allah, with references from the Holy Quran, specifically Chapter 2, Verse 14, presented by Alfa Murisiku Olohunyor. This verse states, “And when they meet those who believe, they say, 'We believe'; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, 'Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers.'”

The turbaning ceremony was performed in accordance with the principles outlined in Suratul Maidah, Chapter 5, Verse 12 of the Holy Quran. Sheikh Abubakar Olayinka Abojokoro, the Chief Imam of Itunshokun Central Mosque, played a pivotal role in facilitating this event.

In his new capacity as Otun-Aare Adinni, Alhaji Isiaka Soku Olaribigbe was guided by Sheikh Yahya Olowooribi Oshoala to adhere to the following four principles:

1. To pray five times daily in accordance with Islamic teachings,

2. To provide Zakat following each prayer,

3. To maintain unwavering faith in Allah as instructed by the Imams, and

4. To be prepared to make donations in service to Allah.

Olaribigbe embraced these responsibilities with great enthusiasm, accompanied by family members, Royal-Blue associates from the United Kingdom, colleagues, and well-wishers.

During the ceremony, special prayers were offered on his behalf by his wife, Alhaja Ramota Olaribigbe, née Banjoko-Olowu, as well as by various Islamic Alhajas and Alhajis in attendance.

The event concluded with group photographs commemorating the occasion.

Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illallah: "Allah is the greatest, there is no god but Allah!”

Takbeer! The Sheikh said, Allahu Akbar! Responded by the audience.
