Oluwatoyin Gafar Bolowotan on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 prompted a candid interaction about good governance in Lagos state for the people of the state and government impaction in sport to encourage the youth to participate in governance. His Excellency Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu a man of Honour, a man of higher integrity, calm, focused, determined, and a goal-getter has promised to do more on various infrastructural development across the state. Generally speaking, The State is blessed to have Mr. Governor, because if you look around at education, transportation, sport, health, and so on... just to mention a few, you can see the tremendous progress in what the governor and the government have done between 2019 up till date, and I am proud to be part of his administration. ​The Lagos Blue Line Rail was also commissioned by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Lagos Blue Line Rail project is a 27-kilometre rail system from Marina to Okokomaiko. Its construction was divided into phases for ease of implementation. It is expected to move more than 500,000 passengers when the entire line is eventually completed.  The commissioning which took place today, is the first phase of the Blue Line Rail, which is a 13 kilometer stretch from Marina to Mile 2, covering 5 stations, and expected to transport 250,000 passengers daily. The groundbreaking for the second phase was also done by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, who witnessed the signing of the contract for the commencement of the project’s second phase, which will cover a 14-kilometre stretch from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko. We took Mr. President on a train ride to experience firsthand our new rail system. ​ History was made yesterday as I joined President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, our hardworking Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, The Ranodu of Imota Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Agoro-Bakare and other esteemed guests at the commissioning of the Imota rice mill domiciled in Ikorodu Federal Constituency. The rice mill is the biggest in Africa and the third largest globally. No doubt, this gigantic investment with a capacity of 32 metric tonnes per hour shall provide thousands of direct and indirect jobs to our teeming youths in Ikorodu Division.  It also has the potential of reviving the economic benefits and opportunities that is inherent in our people. I believe that the benefit of this huge investment transcends Ikorodu to other parts of Lagos and Nigeria, it will contribute immensely to both the economies of Lagos state and the country in general. The His Excellency President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, officially commissioned   “Lagos Rice Mill” in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos-State, Nigeria on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 for sustainable food security productions. The arrival of Mr. President with “The first citizen of Lagos State”, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu; Lagos east senatorial district, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru; Ikorodu Federal House of Representative, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson; The Ikorodu Local Government chairman, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina,  and his vice, Hon. Today, I joined our amiable governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in welcoming the “President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR”, to Imota for the commissioning of Lagos Rice Mill. Lagos made history today with the grand commissioning of the largest Rice Mill in Africa and the third largest in the world. The 32 metric tonnes per hour rice mill has a capacity to produce 2.8 million bags of 50kg bags of rice yearly. Lagos Rice Mill, Imota is expected to generate  250,000 direct and indirect jobs.  The Rice Mill has opened up massive  economic opportunities for our constituents in Imota, Ikorodu and by extension, Lagos East Senatorial District.  I congratulate our dear performing governor, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for this remarkable feat, which is one of the landmark achievements of his government has made in about four years in the saddle. 2023: SANWO-OLU PRIORITISES HUMAN CAPITAL, ENVIRONMENT, AND INFRASTRUCTURE AS GOVERNOR PROPOSES N1.69 TRILLION BUDGET. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reeled out what the priorities of the State will be in 2023 when he presented N1.693 trillion 2023 Appropriation Bill to the House of Assembly, on Thursday. The State Governor said, he will sustain its strategic investment in human capital and channel resources to deliver more infrastructure to keep its economy on the path of growth beyond next year. The State Government’s major concerns in 2023 are health and environment, education, and the economy. Sanwo-Olu proposed an N153.5 billion allocation to education this year, 2023, representing 9.07 percent of the total budget estimates, to consolidate the gains of the past years in the sector. He said the previous investments in education had yielded, leading to the achievement of a record-high performance of 82 percent in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examina
